A Brief Overview of On-Campus Housing at KSU
On- campus housing is offered through a public-private partnership between the university and the KSU Foundation. The Foundation’s purposes include furthering the interests of Kennesaw State University by helping support, guide and protect it and assuming fiduciary responsibility for private gifts to Kennesaw State. All leasing and facilities are managed privately by KSUF Housing Management, LLC, commonly referred to as KSU Housing. The university offers residential student support through the department of Residence Life. Residence Life oversees all programs, student conduct, roommate relations, Resident Assistants, and academic collaborations.
The first campus housing KSU offered became available in 2002 when University Place opened up new at 700 beds and KSU Place Phase I was refurbished and provided 358 beds. Soon after in 2004 University Village was built providing 785 beds and KSU Place Phase II was refurbished providing an additional 192 beds. In 2005 Village Centre was built opening up an additional 96 beds bringing the total bed count for on campus housing to 2131. With the opening of University Village Suites at 915 beds in 2008, the bed count for KSU Housing is now at 3046. From 1058 to 3046 in 6 years!
KSU Housing works in partnership the university department of Residence Life in providing excellence in service to all of our residential students. All leasing is managed online through a system called WebRoomz/AMS. This method of leasing allows the students to choose their own roommates and complete application and leasing processes 24/7.
